FAQ

Flake questions.

What is a flake floor?

Flake is epoxy with vinyl chips broadcast into it while it is still wet, then sealed over the top. You end up with a speckled surface that has some texture underfoot. It is one of the three epoxy finishes we do, along with metallic and solid color.

What is the difference between flake and metallic?

Flake is chips thrown into the coating, so the pattern is even and the surface has grip to it. Metallic is pigment moved through the resin while it is wet, so the marbling is different on every floor and the finish comes out smooth and glossy.
